I agree Learning is “Fun”damental.

If you are considering purchasing some games for your kids, why not consider some educational ones for them. You can provide your kids with great learning tools while they still have a great time. Instead of letting your kids spend hours of their time playing games that teach them nothing, you can have them spending their time playing games that are educational instead. Having your kids play educational games can help them learn new skills, enhance the skills they have, and incorporate other skills they have already learned too. More than likely the games will be so much fun that your child will never realize that the games are so educational.
Many kids seem to think that learning is boring, and usually they do not want to spend more time learning something or working on their skills. If you can use games to bring education and fun together, no doubt your children will love it and they will be learning while they are playing.
Parents want their kids to learn and kids want to have a good time. When you combine learning and fun together, you get the best results.
I found this article, most agree that children learn through play.

Earlier surveys have shown that parents generally want their children to get used to computers at a young age, but not get addicted to the same. Parents expect children’s websites to be informational, easy to use, and suitable for kids of varying ages. They look for games and activities that teach the kids the essential concepts of early childhood education, such as, numbers, alphabets, phonics, analytical skills etc. They also look for online stories, rhymes and other entertaining content. Studies have shown it to be highly effective, if the kids are taught in a subtle and entertaining manner, without giving them a burdened feeling that they need to learn. Such a fun learning approach goes a long way in addressing their short attention spans, and it is quite effective in motivating kids to learn.
Of course, in today’s scenario, most parents are busy and find little time to sit along with their kids in front of the computer on a regular basis. Educational websites for kids need to be well designed for easy kid-friendly usage, and have the ability to engage young kids without the parents necessarily having to babysit them all the time.

When my daughter, Christie, entered elementary school, she just loved to do math. Then in fourth grade, she had a teacher who was strict and a little bit crass, and he would often tell her she wasn’t doing it right. I think it got to her and discouraged her from doing math, now she just gives up before she even sees it. I wanted to get Christie interested in math again, so I bought her an educational software program. It was an old program, just a few fun little games that were tied to multiplication and long division, but she loved it. The program helped her so much that she found herself far ahead of the class.
When she went to junior high school, Christie even placed in an advanced math class, and I had never been so proud or so glad that I bought her that educational software game.
Education does not have to be boring. Everyone learns through games and having fun. My cub scouts will never forget what happens when you soak a raw egg in white vinegar. Or the wonder of holding that egg in your hand without the shell. One incident included adding red food coloring to the test tube. Instead it ended up in the bottle of Karo Syrup. We had red colored pancake syrup for a time.
Do you have a child that has lost interest in school? Join him in exploring the world with what he all ready knows and adding to it. Some children just need to see the practical side of what they are learning. What is under that rock?
We started out learning something that interested us then took our new knowledge out into the real world. Some of our projects were small and simple. Then there were the ones that definitely took us out of our comfort zone. That is what learning is all about, expanding your comfort zone. Think of all the ways you can spend a vacation. Spend some time on the beach looking for mermaid purses. Get close and personal with a grasshopper or shine spiders if you dare.
Do you have a child that likes to tear apart his toys to see how thy work? Help him put his radio control car back together. My son’s ingenuity had increased its speed. Challenge your teens to build an aerodynamically sound kite and see how high it will fly. I bet they never again say that algebra is useless. Basic chemistry no problem, grow a garden, cook a hamburger, better yet bake cookies with big chocolate chips.
Having a hard time coming up with ideas? No problem. Using today’s technology can bring learning games to everyone in an inexpensive usable format. There is a lot of education software available. Learning software offer lessons, oops excuse me, fun from preschool letter and color recognition all the way to study of the masters in music, art, and science.
